From 27th January 2022, face coverings are no longer compulsory. For the safety and comfort of visitors and staff however, we recommend wearing one whilst inside our museums, unless you are exempt.

Please respect others’ personal space whilst visiting our sites, and be mindful when in ‘tighter’ spaces.

Please be mindful that our interactives are for the enjoyment of everyone, so use hand sanitiser before and after use.

Ipswich Museum Re-development Project

Ipswich Museum is embarking on an £8.7 million redevelopment. The three year project will add gallery space, improve visitor facilities and see its unique collections reinterpreted.

We will work with Ipswich communities and visitors to tell new stories, reinterpret objects sensitively, as well as aiming to reinstall a sense of pride in the town and museum.
