About this Event

Inspired by our photography exhibition, learn how to create one of the earliest forms of photography – a cyanotype or ‘blueprint’. By placing materials, such as dried flowers, onto a specially coated (non-toxic) light-sensitive paper you will create beautiful images as the sunlight changes the colour of the paper. We will rinse the print in water and hang it up to dry. This is where history, art and science meet and the results are magical! You will take away some mini-prints and a keyring as a keepsake.

Suitable for ages 5+. Younger children are welcome but may not be able to fully take part in the session. Parents/carers must remain with their children throughout the event.

Each session will last 45 minutes. The bookable times are 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM.

The workshop will take place in the Lower Tudor Room, which is accessible for all and located on the ground floor, as well as outside the front of the building. All materials will be supplied by the artist with instruction and support provided.
