Art in a Day
This Art in a Day workshop is a great opportunity for your pupils to discover a range of art forms around them, learning that art is more than just painting. During this hands-on day, they will take part in a creative activity, find out about a Suffolk artist and share their ideas with the group.
Each activity takes place in a different part of the museum allowing exploration of this amazing location and its collections.
This programme has been designed to fulfil the Arts Award Discover criteria, which leads to a formal qualification from Trinity College, London. It is rare to be able to complete this qualification in just one day, so it’s a fabulous opportunity to do so with us at the museum!

Timings
We offer a full-day programme of activities, running from 10 AM to 2 PM, which includes a lunch break.
Activities
Our activities include becoming an art detective, creating a design, drawing, performing your own freeze-frame, and creative writing about art.
Group Size
The group size ranges from a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 60 participants. We require an adult to pupil ratio of at least 1:10. All accompanying adults are admitted free of charge.
Included
The programme includes a Notes for Teachers pack with suggested pre- and post-visit activities and pupil booklets containing tasks to complete on the day. We provide all equipment including pencils and clipboards for the day. Our knowledgeable museum assistants will lead many of the activities, ensuring amazing photo opportunities and wonderful memories.
