Maths AT The Mansion
Suitable for KS2 (Maths)
This full-day session focuses on maths skills, with pupils asked to apply their skills to solving problems about the architecture, decoration, and historical lives associated with the building, from working out is the Mansion’s height to making pies for guests.

Activities include:
- Help the servants get Christchurch Mansion ready for a royal visit by solving problems with maths.
- Apply Pythagoras Theorem to work out the height of Christchurch Mansion.
- Use ratios to work out the weights of ingredients to make pie dough and use Pi to measure the diameter needed.
- Work out how many planks are needed to floor a room using area and perimeter.
Minimum and maximum group sizes: 20 to 60 pupils.
Adult:Pupil ratio: 1:6
Duration: 240 minutes, 10am-2pm with lunch break.
