Suitable for KS1

Explore how toys have changed over the last 150 years through hands-on activities. This session encourages pupils to think about materials, mechanisms and forces, whilst revealing more about the amazing toy collection at Christchurch Mansion.

More Information

Activities include:

  • Playing with a variety of old toys and finding out how they work
  • Seeing how pictures come to life in a Victorian zoetrope
  • Hearing a very special Victorian musical book and working out how the animal sounds are made

 

Minimum and maximum group sizes: 20 to 60 pupils.

Adult:Pupil ratio: 1:6

Christchurch Mansion

Half Day Session. 120 minutes

£3.80 per child (Ipswich Borough schools)

£4.30 per child (non Borough schools)

Things to note

All school, nursery and group visits must be booked in advance.

To enquire about a visit or to make a booking please contact us.

Our team can reserve a date for you at time of booking, but please note the visit will not be confirmed until you receive a booking form.

If you need to cancel your booking, please do so at least 14 working days prior to your visit. Charges will be incurred if you do not give the required notice.

We are now invoicing all school groups for their visits. Invoices will follow approximately 20 working days from the date of your trip. The number of children indicated on the booking form is an approximate. You will only be charged for the number of children who actually visit on the day.

A minimum charge may apply.

Prices are valid until 31st March 2024.
