Toy Stories
Suitable for KS1
Explore how toys have changed over the last 150 years through hands-on activities. This session encourages pupils to think about materials, mechanisms and forces, whilst revealing more about the amazing toy collection at Christchurch Mansion.
Activities include:
- Playing with a variety of old toys and finding out how they work
- Seeing how pictures come to life in a Victorian zoetrope
- Hearing a very special Victorian musical book and working out how the animal sounds are made
Minimum and maximum group sizes: 20 to 60 pupils.
Adult:Pupil ratio: 1:6
