Why’s That In A Museum?
Suitable for KS2
This session combines local history and science study. Students can examine objects linked to the families who have lived in Christchurch Mansion throughout history and develop communication skills as they discuss and debate why they are kept in a museum.

Activities include:
- Looking at the displays and questioning the stories being told
- Examining specific objects and creating new visitor-friendly labels
- Planning a new museum and thinking about what collections would go inside
Minimum and maximum group sizes: 20 to 60 pupils.
Adult:Pupil ratio: 1:6
Duration: 120 minutes, 10am – 12.30pm
